PHOTO INFORMATION: State Representative Bill G. Schuette (left) welcomed Detective Scott Holzinger of the Midland County Sheriff’s Department for a special ceremony at the state Capitol on Wednesday in remembrance of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The ceremony honors first responders and members of the military from communities throughout the state, including those who have died in the line of duty.

“I was honored to be joined by Midland County’s next Sheriff, Detective Scott Holzinger, for this ceremony at the Capitol,” Schuette said. “This day serves as an important reminder of the sacrifices our first responders, law enforcement officers and military heroes make every day to keep our families and communities safe. We can never take their commitment to service for granted.”
